Magical Call Centre

Today I had to reconcile the Sage 50 accounting software with MS Excel. Sage offers an MS Excel Add-on called Excel Integrated Reporting. No matter what it does, accounting is a black magic for me 😉

This add-on mentioned above didn’t worked well. Well, let say it didn’t worked at all. When selecting company from the Sage tooll bar in Excel and attempt to log on I was getting nice-sounding message: “The version of the data file could not be determined. This is required in order to access the accounts data correctly”. The problem seemed to be trivial. The path to the company’s file was outdated and I had to change, pointing the folder containing our company files by pressing: Look for another company… But not about this I was about to tell you, but about a Call Centre. I didn’t know this solution of this problem could be so straightforward so I phoned Sage Support Call Centre. I have lost with them practically the whole day, because every time when I called them, was getting information that my phone is to be answered in 20 – 30 minutes, please wait. Several times when the waiting time was reduced to 15-20 minutes, I get disconnected and history repeats. The fact that I was handled professionally and without unnecessary strange questions, which sometimes accompany us during these talks with all sorts of call centre’s operators, but not enough that the company asks you for additional money for technical assistance and it still makes you to phone them using premium numbers and hang on the phone all day long. Conclusion? Maybe it is time to open Call Centre 😉
